I am now stronger than ever and have gained massive mobility in all my joints. I am eternally grateful for what has been achieved for me between Visceral Manipulation and Pilates. I can now live a full life and have planned to climb Kilimanjaro in June this year with my wife.

“In late 2018 I herniated my L5/S1 disc on the left side. After a few months of enduring incredible pain, I went for a micro-discectomy in 2019. This was a difficult decision as I am a very active person.

COVID19 brought with it stress and my debilitating pain returned. I had great difficulty in sitting, standing and walking and had no choice but to scheduled a second surgery with a neurosurgeon for 3 December 2021.

I managed to get an appointment with Joanne for Visceral Manipulation on the 22 November 2021. The first appointment reduced my pain by 30% and made daily living more bearable. I cancelled my surgery with the neurosurgeon after the second appointment as there was a significant reduction in pain and started Pilates classes after my third appointment.

With the combination of Visceral Manipulation treatment with Joanne, and committing to weekly Pilates classes with Belinda, a year later I am now stronger than ever and have gained massive mobility in all my joints. If it weren’t for meeting Joanne and Belinda, who knows where I would have been today? Having to give up weight training and running, with a compromised back for the rest of my life, and possibly living a life of many operations.

I am eternally grateful for what Joanne and Belinda have achieved for me between Visceral Manipulation and Pilates.

I can now live a full life and have planned to climb Kilimanjaro in June this year with my wife. People generally take the easiest route to alleviating pain through surgical procedures. I am living evidence that by taking a longer term view of treating the cause of the problem using Visceral Manipulation and having the discipline of attending regular Pilates classes, I was able to avoid a second spinal surgery and have better long term results.”

The treatments that helped Tim

  • Visceral Manipulation involves using specific techniques to find the cause of the problem and then mobilize and release restrictions in the organs, joints, neurovascular system, muscles or connective tissue to alleviate pain, improve physical function and well-being.
  • Craniosacral Therapy involves the therapist applying light pressure to the head, neck, and spine working through the cerebrospinal fluid and spinal membrane system to help alleviate pain and tension.
  • STOTT Pilates is a system of exercises using special apparatus, designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture, and enhance mental awareness.

These therapies have been shown to be effective in relieving a variety of physical and emotional issues.
